What are veterinary biological products? What categories can it be divided into?

Veterinary biological products refer to vaccines, vaccines, insect vaccines, toxoids, diagnostic preparations and antiserum products made by applying the theories and methods of microbiology, parasitology, immunology, genetics and biochemistry. It is used to prevent, treat and diagnose specific infectious diseases or other related diseases of animals such as livestock and poultry.

 

There are nearly 200 varieties currently produced in my country, and dozens of varieties are commonly used. They are divided into the following three categories according to their uses:

 

(1) Preventive biological products: including vaccines, bacterins, insect vaccines and toxoids.

 

① Vaccines are made by removing or weakening the pathogenic effect of viruses on animals. Vaccines can be divided into two categories: one is live or attenuated vaccines. The virus must be attenuated to make such a vaccine, without the ability to cause disease or cause severe reactions in animals. The virus from which this vaccine is made has been killed or inactivated by chemicals or other methods. ②Bacterial vaccine is made by removing or weakening the pathogenic effect of pathogenic bacteria on animals. Bacterial vaccines can be divided into two categories: one is a live bacterin made of bacteria with weakened virulence, such as No. 2 anthrax spore vaccine, No. Methods Kill the dead bacteriocin vaccine made of bacteria, such as swine erysipelas inactivated vaccine, chicken colibacillosis inactivated vaccine and so on.

 

③Insect seedlings are made by removing or weakening the pathogenic effect of pathogenic parasites on animals.
